 Garlic Parmesan Green Beans

Quick and easy Garlic Parmesan Green Beans sautéed in butter and garlic, then sprinkled with parmesan cheese — the perfect side dish for any meal, ready in 15 minutes!


📝 Ingredients (Serves 3–4)

  1. 450g (1 lb) fresh green beans (trimmed)

  2. 2 tbsp butter or olive oil

  3. 3 garlic cloves (minced)

  4. ½ tsp salt (or to taste)

  5. ¼ tsp black pepper

  6. ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little kick)

  7. ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated preferred)

  8. Optional: Lemon zest or a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness


 Instructions

Step 1: Blanch the Green Beans (Optional for tenderness)

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to boil.

  2. Add green beans and cook for 2–3 minutes until bright green and just tender.

  3. Immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking.

  4. Drain and pat dry.

Step 2: Sauté with Garlic

  1. In a large skillet, heat butter or olive oil over medium heat.

  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, just until fragrant (do not brown).

  3. Add green beans, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

  4. Toss and cook for 3–5 minutes until heated through and slightly crispy.

Step 3: Add Parmesan

  1. Turn off the heat.

  2. Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan over the beans and toss to coat.

  3. Serve immediately, garnished with lemon zest or extra cheese if desired.


💡 Tips

  • Use haricot verts (thin French green beans) for a more elegant look.

  • Add chopped toasted almonds or crispy bacon bits for extra crunch.

  • Make it vegan by using vegan butter and nutritional yeast instead of cheese.
