Pasta with Pesto Cream Sauce (Pasta al Pesto con Salsa Cremosa)

A delightful fusion of rich pesto and creamy sauce, creating a perfect balance of fresh and indulgent flavors.


🍝 Ingredients

  1. 400g pasta (penne, spaghetti, or fusilli)

  2. Salted water for boiling

For the pesto cream sauce:
3. 100g basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)
4. 200ml heavy cream
5. 2 tbsp olive oil
6. 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
7. 1 garlic clove, minced
8. Salt and pepper to taste
9. Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)


👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta:
    Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.

  2. Prepare the pesto cream sauce:
    In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in the basil pesto and cook for 1-2 minutes.

  3. Make the creamy sauce:
    Add heavy cream to the pesto and mix well. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Combine pasta and sauce:
    Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy pesto sauce. Add a little reserved pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency, if needed.

  5. Serve:
    Top with grated Parmesan and fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately.

For a nutty twist, sprinkle toasted pine nuts or walnuts on top before serving.
